Aegis is a strategy & design agency. We unlock business value by connecting brands to people.

Human-centred
design is about being
results-oriented.

Design is inherently about problem solving. And one thing we know is that branding, marketing and communication problems have a significant human dimension.

This is why we integrate the social and behavioural sciences into our process. Great design that impacts people and creates exceptional customer experiences is dependent on understanding the relevant human context.

Insight
into people
and markets.

It’s difficult to build a strong brand without factoring in people. Brands are about people. The better you understand your brand audience, the better you can build a strategy to connect with them.

Our clients do not like to throw around money on guesses and assumptions, so we do our due-diligence. For this reason Aegis includes anthropologists and industry experts on our multi-disciplinary project teams. Accountability requires that we aren’t working blind, that we understand how our work impacts on the audience and market level.

Real-time
strategy.

Today, shifts in culture and technology create and destroy markets at hyper-speed. Incremental change happens everyday and quickly aggregates.

Our approach to strategy looks a lot more like agile product development than traditional strategic planning. Just as a product team searches for product-market fit, so too must a strategy team search for validation of a way forward.

Therefore, our strategy process is bottom-up, iterative and responsive. It is informed by a real-time understanding of your audience and their context—and how your brand is fitting or isn’t.

Human-centred
Design.

We are a human-centred, interdisciplinary design agency.

Design is typically defined by practices such as graphic design, interactive design and product design. Or it is defined by the specific problems it is used to solve—for example, logos, websites, software applications, books, exhibits or products.

The challenge is that design that happens in a silo can’t consider the big picture. For example, a website design is not an end in itself, it is part of a larger ecosystem.

The core, underlying design discipline that ties all these practices is human-centred design. And this is what Aegis does. When designing for human beings, you need a deeper understanding of their journey, their context and their need to effectively situate your brand and service in their world.
