    Aegis is interested in ongoing relationships with freelance Service Designers to augment our team when work flow expands beyond capacity. The scope of our work includes understanding the nature of interactions between organizations and customers and how these touch-points can be better designed for efficacy, efficiency and a better customer experience.

    Aegis is interdisciplinary. Working on our team means working with anthropologists, multidisciplinary designers, management consultants, writers and brand strategists.

    The ideal candidate would have expertise and experience in the following activities:
    – The behavioural and social sciences
    – Ethnography and other research approaches
    – Customer experience design
    – Project and people management for large scale projects
    – Presenting team’s work to clients
    – Collaborating internally to spark creative ideas with other teams
    – Developing customer journey maps and segmentations
    – Creating decks and presentations from beginning to end

    Preference is given to candidates with social science degrees and 5+ years of experience.

  • Senior Brand Writer

    Project Basis Position—Aegis is interested in ongoing relationships with Toronto-based Senior Copywriters with the people instincts and social intelligence to create language that can engage, build trust and connection with a range of audiences.

    You are a strategic and creative thinker ready to collaborate with and inspire a team of strategists, designers, and anthropologists. You’ll be challenged to think creatively, developing unique voices, creating names and turning strategy into storytelling and find groundbreaking solutions to achieve our client’s business and marketing goals.

    Our writing projects range from corporate/institutional communications, branding, advertising, website and editorial, but our core work is about helping our clients make authentic connection and achieve traction with audiences.

    Aegis is interdisciplinary. Working on our team means working with strategists, designers, filmmakers, technologists and anthropologists. Sometimes, being a team writer may also include joining us for client meetings.

    Description
    – Collaborate closely with our anthropologist, strategist and senior designer in the development of strategic client and product positioning and the associated messaging.
    – You’ll be expected to work independently and collaboratively.
    – Brainstorm and develop smart, compelling creative concepts that clearly convey the strategic position and messaging.
    – Develop high-impact conceptual themes to communicate creative strategy.
    – You will dig deep, working with client-side subject-matter experts to obtain background information; and skillfully interviewing and gathering information directly.
    – Write, edit and refine accurate, compelling copy in both short and long forms for all print, electronic, digital and social media.
    – Effectively reduce complex topics to simple communications.
    – See the big picture without losing sight of the relevant details.

    Qualifications
    – Experience with B2C and B2B marketing/writing; a knowledge of business, brand and marketing principles, education and healthcare are plus
    – Ability to thrive in an open, honest, collaborative team environment
    – Passion for strategy, positioning and messaging
    – Strong conceptual and visual thinking skills
    – Diligent proofreading capabilities
    – Positive vibe and collaborative nature
    – Up-to-date and on the ball with emerging digital trends and culture
